This week augmented reality was discussed, which I find to be interesting due to its wide spectrum of levels of entry. There are many different facets as well: augmented, virtual, online, simulation, etc. which when I learned about these, found great difficulty in determining the differences. As someone who has never engaged directly in such ‘extreme’ games of augmented reality, I found the Oswald Mime game to be intimidating at first, though by the completion found myself wanting to do more.
When watching the example of the Batman reality game put on for the release of the film, I saw a connection with the ability of marketing to draw in fans and entice them with clues to make even the onlooker of these activities intrigued.
